This site is a tribute to Sally, who was born in Hastings on October 13, 1931. She was much loved and will always be remembered.

Sally Simpson was born in Hastings where she spent the majority of her life. The primary focus of her time was spent on her garden and the allotments beyond. She married Gordon Simpson and they had two children, Peter and Janet. She remained married to Gordon until his death.


Gardening was her love and her passion. The house she, Gordon and the children lived in along Old London Road had a long garden and she made use of all of it. Behind it there were allotments, and she rented an allotment where she grew produce for many, many years, despite having to battle with the badgers that sought to invade and demolish her crops. The family rarely had to buy vegetables, benefitting from the range and quality of crops she grew.


When she became too old to cope with the steep slope of the garden she moved to Lincolnshire to be near both her children.


She leaves two children and four grandchildren.
